Sherif El-Sherbini, Minister of housing, utilities and new urban communities, announced that the role of the Ministry of housing is to build, implement and meet the size of the need, all this prompted the Ministry of housing in the past period to limit real estate financing to social housing units under the slogan "housing for all Egyptians" in the low-and middle-income Axis, with raising the percentage from 3% to 8% for low-income and from 8% to 12% for middle-income.
Sherif El-Sherbini added that the ministry has canceled mortgage financing on fully matured products, and this is out of our belief that we should not bear the burden of financing, just as it is the case for private developers.
Al-Sherbini also stressed that the ministry will adopt the process of maximizing the role of real estate financing companies in the coming period, to solve the problem of financing companies under construction, where he said,"through our communication with the minister of finance, the economic indicators are positive and by a large percentage, interest will decrease by the end of the year by between 3% to 4%, which will result in a significant recovery of the real estate market.
This came through the meeting organized by the businessmen's Association in the presence of the minister of Housing, Engineer Ali Issa, Chairman of the businessmen's Association and vice-president of the Association, chairman of the real estate development and contracting Committee, Engineer Fathallah Fawzi, engineer Ahmed Sabour, member of the association's Board of directors and executive director of the association, and engineer Dr. Mohamed Youssef on the future of real estate development in Egypt and the role of the business community in achieving that vision and contributing to achieving the vision of the ministry
